Sometimes I dont think its the weight itself thats the issue but instead the confidence in owning the way you look.. as no matter how much I work out or what the scales say I still dont feel happy with myself.
So my big question is does anyone have any tips to help with gaining some body confidence..

Getting confident about your body doesnt just happen overnight. I would say that positivity exercises help for me (although I will also say that Im not super confident yet, im still working on myself both body and mind). Its all about letting yourself think about your body in a good way, one exercise I do is where you Stand infront of a mirror (in your underware or naked preferably) and look at yourself and find things about your body you like (first time I did this I cried a little btw) its really hard at first, but after a while you will start feeling better about your body.0

I get into the routing of thinking over and over how much I HATE certain things, my stomach, my thighs, thinking other people must be thinking it about me too. Trying to make a conscious effort to force myself to think about my whole body - like Anne said - for example I have relatively small hips and I quite like my feet weirdly. There must be someone out there is sitting thinking the same things that I think about my stomach who would love to have my hips or who hates their feet! Thinking like that helps me somehow...putting myself in someone else's shoes, not feeling so alone with the thoughts. I don't know if that is weird Also I think complimenting other people, telling them they have great legs etc (without putting yourself down in the process eg so much nicer than mine!) is a good way of starting to condition yourself to think about bodies more generally in a positive way and seeing the best bits. Also has potential to come across weird ha but I think is a nice thing to do too1

Sometimes it's just about wearing an outfit that makes you feel fantastic ....
Or getting your hair done....
Confidence comes with time usually1 -
I think taking 5 minutes a day to make a list of 10 things you love about yourself (ie your hair, your laugh, how you're able to be active, etc.) Rinse and repeat. If you catch yourself saying negative things about yourself immediately turn them into a positive (ie "My stomach is so fat" turns into "My core does a great job being strong and holding a plank during yoga class"). I also second the staring in the mirror exercise and it can be something you work up to.1

You can lose tonnes of weight and still not be happy in yourself, personally I believe that although your not happy with our shape we know we can change it and in doing that we are confident about every lump and bump and I always feel really nice when I dress up to go out, do my hair or make up and look great no matter what size I am.
I have a very supportive husband who loves me no matter what size I am and he tells me I look great all the time even when I am just sitting in pjs relaxing.
I'm 40 now in two weeks and I remember being 20 and thinking I was fat when in actual fact I was 4 sizes smaller then I am now so at this stage in my life I have learned to accept my shape and know that I can change it however slow it takes.1 -
power pose! seriously. stand up straight. chest out (not like that, reel it in a bit) head up, look forward, put your hands on your hips, smile.
and since you can't walk around ALL day with your hands on your hips, just walk with confidence. Confidence is hella smexy!

I think that dancing helps. You learn good posture, you learn how to move and how to really inhabit your body. Latin, ballroom, whatever strikes your fancy--take a dance class. It's also a good way to meet new/interesting people.2

Always wanted the body of a super hero since I was a kid. Went so far as to take illegal anabolic substances, but I just don't have the genetics.
While it took a long time, I accepted my shortcomings and learned to be grateful for what I did have like; all my hair, strength, fairly deep voice, reasonably good looking.
You can do the same since your profile pic shows a pretty young lady.0 -
