I weigh myself daily, and some days I can be 2 kgs lower than others, is the extra 2 kgs water weight ? I'm starting I lose motivation because of this as I have been working at this so much and have only seemed to have lost 3lbs within a month and sometimes gain some of the weigh back

Either log every day or log one day a week (or every two weeks or every month) and make it the same day.
Nobody weighs the same every day.0 -
Weigh once a week at the same time .... like Fridays right when you get up ... after you pee.1

Just watch the overall trend...body weight isn't static so the actual number doesn't really matter...the trend is what matters.0

Your weight can vary pretty significantly over time. The good news is you have lost 3 pounds in a month. Maybe it isn't what you were hoping for, but it is better than not losing or gaining weight. Keep it up and eventually all the weight goes away. It may be better next month as well. Just be patient and give it time.0

Thanks everyone, just glad I haven't gained the 3lbs back !0

i usually do Saturday morning once I've used the toilet.
also make sure I don't over eat the night before
I sometimes do a Wednesday weight in out of curiosity but don't log it half the time0 -
I weigh every morning and track it using Trendweight. A weight tracker helps smooth out the fluctuations, so you don't panic so much!0

I weigh myself every morning and log it using the HappyScale app. However, I only log an "official" weight on MFP once a week on Wednesday. I like the daily weights because I get to see a trend. I use Wednesday as my official weekly weigh in because it gives me some time to recover from the weekend if I cheated.
The HappyScale app has nice charts and graphs too. I really like it.
It's also worth noting that your weight can vary throughout the day. I frequently weight two pounds less in the morning than I did when I went to bed. Be consistent with the time of day you weigh yourself.0 -
I LOVE Happy Scale.... I log daily in it, as long as the overall trend is heading down I am happy. It really smoothes out the fluctuations and logs a moving average. I also like the look and reports, the app is well done.
I only log losses into MFP.0 -
Always weigh at the same time everyday. I find first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything to be the most consistent. But even then my weight can fluctuate a pound or two.0

I generally wake up, take my morning walk, and then weigh myself.
early on I was weighing several times a day because I wanted to get an idea how much my weight changes in a day... it can easily fluctuate by more than 4 lbs (from my lightest to heaviest of the day)0
