public nudity will free more than the nips of society....

Sure, public nudity should be legal when fathers and mothers teach their children to respect all and to not fall prey to their impulses of hurting others for the sake of satisfying their own needs.... maybe that doesn't sound as I meant it to sound...

It would be great to be able to walk outside topless or completely naked but there are some people, male and female, who seem to think they can take advantage of others for the sake of their own gratification. Maybe one day we can have a society of mature individuals that see the body as everyone's individual sacred temple as opposed to their new mounting station.

Most importantly, do you think public nudity should be legal? What could possibly go wrong?

No unfortunately because I think several crimes will quadruple such as harassment, rape, and violence. People are sexual beings and because of this there is no other way to view the nude body. I feel like we'd be digressing and moving backwards toward more primitive times instead of forward. What will men do if they become aroused? It will happen and does happen and will most definitely increase if some hottie is walking around naked with her girls out. Women are equal opposite and more likely to become victims as opposed to men. I think people should cover themselves because without these boundaries we are no more than beast.

Society has been clothed for many decades...it would be frowned upon

It's legal in Germany for the most part (regulated in some places for safety). It does not lead to more crimes nor is it frowned upon.
It isn't practices everywhere but, for example, you can go to a park right in the middle of Munich and hang out naked.

My daughter slipped in a river once, a naked guy saved her. No big deal.

No I do not think it should be legal - or at least not everywhere.

Not because it will lead to more crime or anything but because the idea of a certain level of covering up being neccesary is part of our culture and too many people would be upset, uncomfortable, offended at this.

However I have no objection to separate nudist places for those who wish to be nude - there is a nudist beach in city where I lived - it is tucked out the way and clearly sign posted before you get there. If you don't like nudity, don't go there ( I haven't) but those who want to and are not offending others. - fine.

I don't think that it should be. Mainly because of all of the creeps out there.

No , unless you think its a good idea for every creep in society to be around kids naked . Forward thinking is a must . Its after taking a long time for people to reach this modern civilised era , and we as a species are not finished . We must keep moving forward .
People who want to stir things up, create drama and just being a public nuisance are just attention seeking plonkers . There is a time and a place to rock out with the co-k out and public streets is not it .

Gonna go with "Nope". Here's why: Western society has been so hyper-sexualized in EVERYTHING, that we can't just stuff that proverbial genie back in the bottle. The exploitation of all things sexual is everwhere; our music, advertisements, TV shows, movies, not to mention the explosion of internet pornography over the past 20 years and very real issues with human trafficking.

I'm not saying there aren't some cultures and societies in which it could or already does work to some degree. What I am saying is that you couldn't simply legalize it and not anticipate real, harmful, lasting effects to western culture.

No. Beyond the whole creeper thing....there are just certain bodily fluids that I wouldn't want to be swapping with people.

Be naked if you want...wear clothes if you want. If you're offended.....don't look.

It's not just about not looking, I don't want to sit in a chair where someone's vagina was, or sweaty pubey balls. It's about hygiene, and I would just rather not come in contact with someone else's body fluids if I don't have to. If that makes me a prude then I'll be a prude.

Western society I guess excludes France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Vermont, Oregon, Netherlands, Croatia, etc...
Just because it is legal doesn't mean everyone has to be nude. Just not criminalised.

    You do you.

These places that have a healthy body culture tend to have lower sexual violence rates. Not sure the two are related but it is worth considering.

Hygiene issues are my main objection. I don't think I'd want to sit on a subway seat after a person who didn't wipe well was there.

Once upon a time nudity was legal and a couple of people were not aware they were naked everything was normal until a serpent convinced a woman to eat an apple and she convinced her mate to eat it as well. Then they were ashamed of their nudity and covered themselves.

So public nudity should not be legal.

And we've been ashamed of our natural bodies every since.

But people don't ride nude on subways in places where it is legal?

I see no issues with it with the sole exception that it's just too damn cold here to get naked 9 months out of the year.

I live in Texas. Were nudity ever legal and wholeheartedly embraced, I'm sure there would be the same mentality there is with guns: appropriate everywhere all the time, don't tell me otherwise, pass laws so there can be no infringement whatsoever on my nudity rights. Sensibility and middle ground isn't something we're good at :p
