So did I Kazzy. Started a 30 workout challenge May 1st and let me tell you....I can finally start feeling it going into day 12. I forgot how hard it was to calorie count (as it's been a year and half since I really did it) and what I can and cannot eat. Everyone...feel free to add me as a friend!

How is everyone shedding of the weight? Any advice for me pls? I started walking 3 miles a day with my sisters and my mom. I also started to pay attention a little closely to what i eat. But its difficult. I always forget to log in my food. I have little self control when it comes to food. I always feel guilty when i eat something i shouldn't have.

I'm just getting back into this after letting myself go for far too long. This is what I've learned from the posts here on mfp:
Log it before you eat it. Use a food scale whenever you can. Learn what a healthy portion looks like. Eat more of the foods that fill you up & keep you satisfied without going over goals- for many that's protein, healthy fats, fiber. Eat less of the foods that make you lose control.
Find exercises you can commit to doing regularly and enjoy them! Learn what it feels like to burn off all those extra calories you've been eating.
Acknowledge and deal with any underlying emotional issues that drive your lifestyle right now. It takes time to break old habits and build healthier ones.
Don't give up! If you have a bad day, learn from it and move on.

Try to not dwell on things you 'shouldn't' be eating. Granted there are some things that aren't ideal for weight loss but a lot of people tend to think "Sod it, I've had X bad thing so now the day is ruined", myself definitely included. If you want a burger/muffin/pint/chocolate then try not to deprive yourself because sometimes it can make you feel worse. Find what fruits and veggies you like, make sure you're eating enough and try not to think of it as a diet and just something you're going to do from now on. Just enjoy yourself and focus on how good you're feeling from the walking etc. and the eating should follow suit :)

also stop worrying about shedding weight and instead concern yourself with shedding body fat. a 150lb woman at 35% body fat is a boat, but a 150lb woman at 15-20% body fat looks incredible.

Meh. At 5'8" and 36%bf and 150lb I wasn't happy, but not exactly seafaring.

At 166lb and the same height as you(+.5 inches), I should perhaps name myself "Titanic".
