Have I sabotaged myself?

So I have been following the calorie count of 1200 calories for a 2lb weight loss and yes I use a food scale. But with all the reading I have done I am wondering if I am starting this program out with too few calories? My weight loss has been ok but the last week or two it has definitely stalled.... Should I "restart" with a higher calories per day so I have calories to cut back on in order to start losing again when I have these stalls?

No need to "restart", but if you want to increase you calories you can.

Also, eating less isn't the only way to increase your deficit.

I would up it and weight loss is not linear.

I'm on 1200 calories a day, but have more when I exercise which is usually 5 days a week. I intend to do more exercise when I get close to my goal weight then I can add more calories.

No loss for a week or two can be caused by many things. It's likely water.

A "stall" is more like no weight loss over a 6 week period. Two weeks is nothing.

You aren't necessarily going to see the scale go down every week. Some weeks it's up (some weeks it's WAY up); some it's down. Use something like Trendweight and you'll see the overall trend of it going down.

    Is trend weight an app?

I'm not sure if it's an app or not - I use it on my laptop.

I know there are apps out there that others use. I think one is called Happy Weight or something like that and I think it's basically the same thing.

Don't think about it in terms of restarting, just up your calories. 2 weeks is not a stall or a plateau thankfully - it is a morale buster however. :frowning:

I use the WeightGrapher website to chart my weight.

    From their FAQ:
Is there an iOS or Android App for TrendWeight?

No, there are not native applications for smartphones (iOS/Android/Windows/etc), and I don't have any plans to develop apps. That said, the TrendWeight web app is reasonably optimized for smartphones If you visit TrendWeight.com on your iOS or Android device, you'll see an phone-optimized view of your dashboard.

If my goal was to lose 2 pounds a week I would certainly be sabotaging myself. So I eat ALL of the calories that MFP gives me. And I eat back ALL of my exercise calories. Try switching to a 1 pound loss and see what happens.
