I'm home from university for the summer, and living with my parents. The food they eat is awful for my diet, and they won't buy healthier things because they can't afford it and don't want it. What should I do?

Healthier food doesn't have to be more expensive. Maybe offer that you'll take over cooking and shopping three days of the week? Not sure how your parents health is, but also maybe express concern about them eating healthier? The other alternative, like someone else mentioned, is be responsible for your own meals. Mom's making cheddar stuffed potatoes and roast beef with gravy for dinner? Just make yourself a chicken breast and salad at the same time- That way, you still have family meal-times together, but you get healthier food.

You're clearly an adult. Buy your own food.

Offered to cook a few recipes. My wife has cooked a lot of weight watcher meals that absolutely kill with friends and family.
Also try to find a fruit or vegetable stand near you. They usually have really good prices far better than supermarket and you can pick yourself up with you.

Like the other suggestions buy your own food and maybe offer to cook a meal once a week. Maybe they will change some of their eating habits once they get a taste for better healthy food.

You might prepare a salad daily (from your shopping trip) and have an appropriately sized portion of the dinner with your salad accompanying.

If you're not able or willing to buy and prepare your own food, you'll just need to weigh your portions and keep in deficit.
