Deadlifting nightmare!

The gym at our new duty station has only hex plates. It's terrible for deadlifting. But that's not the nightmare!

Last night I dreamed that I was finally in a gym with circular plates and was going to set up to deadlift, but I couldn't find any 45s. They had 42s and 44s and 46s and kg plates but no 45s, and for some reason in my dream I wouldn't use anything else. So I just kept wandering the gym in search of the 45s that didn't exist.. :'(

:)

That ain't no thing. I compete in kilos and just this past Monday I specifically searched out the kilo plates to train with. You just get used to it and adjust as needed. There are apps that can do the conversions for you.

Give me kilo plates over hex plates any day of my life.

Thank you for posting this. It is really quite awesome of you to share something as personal as a dream. We can learn a great deal from our dreams, even when they are unpleasant or nightmares. It kind of makes me think there should be a section on this forum dedicated to nothing but dream sharing when it comes to health and fitness.
In the past, I have had dreams like the one you shared. Not exactly like it but similar. When what I need is not found in a dream, but everything near what I need is there, it helps remind me to broaden what I will accept in life in general or around a specific struggle.
The dream you shared only you can truly know what it means and it can possibly help you solve problems with your fitness goals. :)

hex plates don't bother me, but i mostly lift singles. if its the choice between not lifting or lifting with hex plates, i'll pick them up, or i'll do rack pulls.
