Weight loss has sped up

Usually people would be delighted that their weight loss has sped up, but I am not.
I've recently started creating dance workout videos so sometimes I can dance for 5 hours at a time when choreographing. My calorie intake is anywhere between 1,000-1,600 and it depends on the day as well. I weigh myself twice a day, morning and night. It's my routine. Once a week provokes anxiety for me, so I like to monitor my bodily changes. I'm glad I did! For a few nights now my weight has been the same in the morning as it is in the evening after food and drink. I don't dance every day. I have had a rest today for example and usually dance 2-3 times a week and I've not even been trying to go 100% with my eating habits, but it hasn't been awful either. In the last 2 days I've dropped 2 lbs without even trying! I'm astonished because a month ago I was constantly getting stuck and now the lbs are just dropping off. I want it to slow down to give my skin time to snap back and not start getting super loose and hanging. I've been fearing an underlying medical condition might be at play, but I feel fine! My sleep pattern has been horrendous and I've not been drinking enough water and usually that causes me to maintain / plateau.
Any ideas?

Are you eating back your exercise calories? If you're dancing 5 hrs in a day, that's a fair amount of calories you should be eating back.0

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about 2 days. Weight loss isn't linear and weird things happen.
You can eat more if you are concerned.
Sometimes I seem to lose quickly, sometimes nothing for 10-12 days. Last weekend I ate more than usual (roughly maintenance) one day and then this week I lost over 3 pounds (more than I would expect).1 -
Weight loss is not linear, it can bounce up and down by several pounds every day based on a variety of factors. If you are consistently seeing weight loss, or the side effects of it (loose clothing, change in body measurements) for weeks that is a different story, but this seems to be from only a few days time, is it not?
You say you've been eating 1000-1600 calories, is this in addition to your regular calories, or the additional from your exercise?
Ultimately, if you have a true medical concern, you will want to reach out to a medical professional. Your skin snapping back up could be the least of your issues if it is something serious. MFP can be about as accurate at diagnosing your medical issue as WebMD, but we won't tell you it's cancer at least.0 -
I'm reading this as, you've significantly increased your exercise without changing your food intake. While two days isn't really enough to tell, you might want to increase your food intake. I can lose 2lb/week on 1600 cal/day when working out one-two hours per day. You are young, and active 1000 calories is not appropriate for you (assuming you are calculating those accurately using a food scale and the appropriate database entries).0

Thanks all for your replies!
I've now gained back like 2lbs so I don't know what went on but suffice to say I'm relieved it has stopped shooting down so fast. I would rather this process go slow and steady! To me it was unusual because I've had weeks where I've done far more exercise and maintained my weight, so this was off the chart weird for me! However my body is changing and has changed lots already so I shouldn't be surprised. I do need to check out my calorie intake properly and re-strategise my meal plan.0 -
Just normal weight fluctuations. If you can't stay off the scale, get yourself an app that will give you a trending weight based on your daily weigh ins. The fluctuations can be downright INSANE and will drive you crazy unless you sort of numb yourself to them. I'm a big believer in either staying off the scale for at least 2 weeks or weighing daily. Anything else will give you wild fluctuations that will confuse you and, in my case, messes with my motivation.0

I weigh daily personally. If I leave it for once a week or so then I get anxiety when stepping on the scales. Weighing daily has helped me mentally more than anything because I see my body changes. I'm maintaining now which is good, and no I've not been eating back the calories I burn which explains the fast weight loss, however I'm now trying to eat more! I've noticed my skin has started to become looser on my abdomen. I was obese for a good 8 years and the last few years my stomach was buldging out so bad that I looked pregnant with twins! It turned out to be a gluten intolerance, so my stomach is a lot less 'out there' now. I really don't want to be left with hanging loose skin that results in having surgery which is why it was important for me to stop losing weight for the time being, however when I'm choreographing dance videos that can take about 4 hours at a time, it's pretty hard! Guess I just need to eat more to maintain! I've lost like 65lbs over the space of 9 months and I have about 25lbs left to shift. I want those 25lbs to take at least a minimum of 5 more months so it's a slow steady loss.1
