It Works!

I'm curious on anyone's thoughts on this? Have you tried their products? I have a friend who sells it and wants me to try it.

She wants you to try it because she sells it. It doesn't really work.30

It's a MLM scam. The wrap has no scientific evidence (and the way it "works" isn't even logical.)
The company knows it's selling crap, the "distributors" are the customers in reality.
I mean, the new protein powder is literally called "profit". A capital F in the middle doesn't make it a different word, despite their attempts to be cutesy.22 -
Aaaaaaaaaand this time it really is the scamwoo junk. Good feelings gone.4

Ooohhh.... I came into this thread thinking I was going to find out what works... then I realized OP's talking about the product It Works... which doesn't work. Like @queenliz99 said, calorie counting works.2

I looked into it extensively since, like you, I have a friend begging me to try it.
I found that the supplements are so full of fluff and artificial sweeteners that, for me, would be no benefit whatsoever. I would be willing to try a wrap to make myself feel better about wearing a particular outfit for a big night or before a beach week, but only as a temporary solution. The key to It Works is going to be getting customers hooked so they turn into distributors. If they ever quit using the products, the weight or fluff will come right back.2 -
I have a coworker who tries every fad/quick fix in the book. This was one of them. She bought them from a "friend" (supplements and wraps). Not only did they NOT work, she ended up having a close her bank account because they would not stop sending the stuff and charging her, even though she had cancelled her subscription over and over again. Ended up being a huge headache. She moved right on to the next scam after that and is still overweight.6

I have a friend who sells that stuff. She never posts before and after pictures of herself but of other people, and the photos always seem blurry and weird. She also claims that she can eat whatever she wants because she can take the fat fighters and carb blockers to not gain weight. . There's your sign that it is all a waste of money. This app and some motivation is all you need!7

I have a friend here on MFP that I also follow on Instagram. When I first "met" her, she pushed the products and it was all over her Instagram, as well. Then, something fascinating happened. She started meeting with a nutritionist about her weight loss goals and she also started getting into strength training. She became fascinated with how our bodies use the food we eat and why we shouldn't hate carbs but we need them for fuel. And she quit talking about It Works... This chick made an amazing transition and, as she was showing off her muscles and rock climbing ability, she quit bringing up It Works because she didn't need it and she couldn't push it any more. A story with a happen ending, finally17

If you have to name your product "It works!", it probably doesn't.
But, you can DIY it yourself: Saran wrap + Hemorrhoid cream.5 -
My cousin sells it, I had to block her on FB because its constant advertising, and yet she is still overweight.2

Same here! My friend swears by it but has never once posted a before and after of herself, just of random people that no one knows. And she always says things like "Talking to two girls now that want to join my team. Hurry, I only have one spot left!"... I've doubted it from the beginning!1 -
Just say No! I have different people trying to sell - and I have to admit, it is extremely difficult to remain patient, polite and cordial (have to, they are relatives). I just keep saying No thank you - over and over again. grrrrrrrrrr1

I'll never forget the time I had someone approach me about It Works. We had become acquaintances through a parenting forum and decided to meet up. Ahead of time she did her sales spiel and offered to bring me a free sample. It just so happened that this was a few months after I had started transitioning into maintenance and was having a hard time getting my weight to stabilize-I was down to 117lbs at the time. I was a bit of a brat and and told her to bring the sample When we met she got out of her car all ready to go (she had her kit bag in hand), took one look at me and..well it was kind of awkward to say the least. Thing is-she was very overweight. She just assumed I would be overweight (she never asked me/had no idea of my weight loss story). I never did get that free sample6

my neighbor used one of their pills. wont say which one. and she ended up with liver issues after taking it for only 2 months. she lost no weight either.she recently had WLS,which in my book she didnt need it especially with 4 kids to take care of. but some people think WLS is the only way.so no it doesnt work.0

On a related note, is it common on MFP that people add you as friends so they can try to sell their MLM stuff to you? I've had that happen twice in the past week so I am wondering if this is happening a lot.2

I had it happen once on my old account (beachbody ugh). I deleted her pretty quick and think she ended up getting kicked off the site.0 -

yes,I have had people try to add me just to sell me a product or get me to follow their way of "dieting" all of which were FAD diets or really low calories,no thanks I just set them straight and go from there.1 -
They have tons of products. What are you looking at specifically? I have tried several, so I can give you my advice... If you are looking for weight loss, change your habits. Spending money to loose weight, is usually a temporary fix. The wraps actually did help me, but I got back into old eating habits, so that went away quickly. ( again- temporary fix) Thermo fit- did nothing- Confianza- did nothing- Hair Skin and Nails- Nadda- Fat Fighters- Is a joke! my friends got fat cause they thought they could eat whatever they wanted. I stopped that one right away. LOL
The only good product I got out of it was their greens, which i use religiously. They help me keep my inflamation in my body under control. I can tell when I don't use them. I also NEVER get sick now that I take them and my allergies are under control. I don't take them for weight loss though.

Hope this helps!!!

I have a friend who sells another MLM product and I have never seen her own progress pictures, but she posts pics of others a few times a week. I finally caught on to her finding these pictures on Google when she posted before and after pics of Drew Manning (the fit to fat to fit guy).4 -

I thought I could use the products as a jumpstart to losing weight. I have tried so many times on my own and for me after a couple of weeks I lose my motivation. I'm also a mother of 3 girls and it's so hard for me to diet and eat healthy when my husband and girls don't. To get to my long term goal I have about 75lbs to lose and I get frustrated quickly!
Thanks everyone for your opinions. I appreciate it!!1
