So I have been dieting and exercising for three weeks and I have lost 8 pounds but recently I started working out harder and the past few days I have been gaining about 0.5 pounds per day :( should I be concerned or is that just muscle maybe? (5'8, 172-->165)

Water retention in the muscles from the new routine. Common. It will fall off eventually.

^Yep. This would be my guess as well. Give your body some time to adjust to the new routine.

Thats what I was thinking too. I'm having the same issue as MorganWhite1 when I work out. I can be 173 pounds the morning of, and a day or two later I am at 175/176 sitting. Its strange but I figured it was water.

Morgan, you got this. Even if the scale doesn't give you the number you wish, keep taking pictures of yourself and compare. Any workout is a victory. Wishing you the best!
