I started running/jogging a few weeks back and i'm really begining to get into it. I run in my Puma Cel trainers which i picked up in sports direct during the january sales and they are ok, especialy on the trademil but not so much on the road. Our American friends recommend you get your running shoes from a specialist shop were you get fitted but were or which stores can i go to in the uk for this service? My local JJB is pants and they only do fashion trainers. I've tried Reeboks and Ascis as well and so far the pumas have been the most comfy. I want to go out on the road more now that the weather is good for it. Anyone have any ideas?

most towns have a specialised running store, i can see from your profile that you're oop north. there's a sweatshop - a really good running shop in both meadow hell and the arndale centre. i found a really good advisor at my local jjb, he was studying sports science and helped me find a really good pair of nike running shoes. good luck!

Sweatshop is really good for fitting running shoes, they analyse your gait and how you run to give you the best support from your shoes. But make sure your feet are smell free as you will have to do a little jog around the store barefoot so they can analyse your running style and where you need the support.
