If I recently upped my run time, is this too much?

I have recently gotten back into running. Last Friday I upped my time by 5 minutes and did this once. I took a break over the weekend, but I was forced to skip today, and most likely tomorrow.
My question is this-- If I start running again on Wednesday, is the 4 day break too much to continue with the recent increase without potentially injuring myself? Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you!

It should not be an issue. Depending on how much you have been running, it may even be useful. Rest is very important and 4 days is not long enough to lose any of your gains.0

The general guideline is to increase your total training volume by no more than 10% per week. So the question would be how much of a % 5 minutes represented (and it's a very general thing, some people are able to increase more than that, others less, it really is a case of listening to your body)
A 4 day layoff shouldn't be a problem but depending on how recently you got back into running you may want to go with the shorter time, at least for he 1st run, to err on the side of caution.0 -
Ok, thank you both!0
