    what should I have?

Depends on what you ate and did today. If you worked out this evening, I would have something like baked chicken with broccoli.... yum.

I've eaten very well today and this will be what's left AFTER dinner. I'm doing a 2 hour workout here in a little bit.

I would help if we could see your food diary. Don't know if you could use a little extra protein, fruits, veggies, carbs, etc.!

I would tend to go for cheese - i.e., mini babybel, laughing cow, etc. on flatbreads or the bagel thins that Thomas' makes. Or avocado or peanut butter, as was mentioned before.

When I have a lot of calories left at the end of the day I make myself a protein shake... mix and match the ingredients to get to the right number of calories:

    1-2 scoop of protein powder
    either skim milk or water
1-2 tbs of PB2 (or normal peanut butter if you don't have it)
Throw in a banana or other fruit
    Throw in some yogurt

I can easily make that thing take up 400 calories, though usually I'm not that high. It's absolutely the best "diet" food I eat.
  • Edamame...low in fat and carbs but high in protein. On the whole, very healthy. http://www.livestrong.com/article/267453-the-nutritional-value-of-edamame-beans/

Big handful of nuts and a couple rice cakes is a go-to for me, though you could probably eat hummus and veggies until you were practically sick and not go over 400 calories...

Thanks for all the suggestions. There are so many great options here it's going to be really hard to choose just one.
