So first off, this is my first time posting so sorry if this is in the wrong category... Second of all, the pill isn't for me, my mom saw it and bought it for herself. I'm worried that it isn't healthy for her, but so far I haven't found any info on it. Its by garcinia, called Nature's Slim. Have any of you heard of this? I want to discourage her from using diet pills but I'm lacking the sources/info to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've heard and used it before I knew better..
It did absolutely nothing for me other than make my wallet lighter.

The only thing that works for weight loss is to eat less calories than the body needs to maintain its current weight. Counting calories (by weighing food and keeping track) works. There are no gimmicks/pills/teas that work for weight loss, I'm afraid. If there were, then no one would be overweight. With that particular pill, there has been no scientific evidence that it works.

Thank you for the responses so far, I really appreciate it. Are there any side effects? Aside from the lighter wallet? Lol.

I have heard about them and I also heard that they are simply a waste of money. It id basically green coffee bean extract. I agree if it were that easy no one would be over weight . There are other natural supplim3ents that help and have no side effects and are safe.

    From healthline.com:
    What Are the Side Effects?
Reported side effects for garcinia cambogia are mild. They include:

    dizziness
    dry mouth
    upset stomach
    diarrhea
However, as with all dietary supplements, it could interact with medications you regularly take.
Unregulated, unproven and unreliable supplements like these are kind of scary - who knows how they might interact with any medications your mom is taking. Interactions have the risk of increasing or decreasing absorption of necessary medication or disrupting its ability to work. It's not worth the risk to me, and I hope it's not to her either!

Thank you all, I will be looking into this more thoroughly and will do my best to dissuade her from using it.
