So i know a few of you will yell at me for this but..
I was trying to practice to eat when my stomach told me its hungry, I stopped forcing all these small meals when not hungry which is good yes, To learn your body signs and listen to them. What i was trying.
Thing is it just occured to me i havent eaten in 2 days (seriously please dont tell me thats bad i know that) But i didnt really notice....Im not hungry, my energy levels have been fine. Im cookin an omlette up now to eat but...
My question is what does hunger feel like. What am i looking for in my body, Because my stomach hasnt even been growling and i havent felt weak which i used to when i ate like crap all the time just hours after i ate, Now that i rid my body of all the gross sugars i just cant seem to get "hungry" im just looking for tips on reading your body

Oh dear!
Some people really don't feel hungry much, if at all.
Have you had any issues with eating disorders in the past? Are you more stressed than usual right now? I know when I'm stressed, my hunger cues nearly disappear and I just make sure I hit my calorie goal with yummy and nutritious foods.
If neither of those applies to you, my suggestion for you is to just pick some times to eat - you can do 1 meal a day, 3 a day, whatever works for your schedule.
Might be worth talking to your doctor next time you go in, too. Certainly wouldn't hurt!

Yeah im not stressed and in past i have been a binge eater, Always ate when bored so maybe im just not used to hunger cues, But before like i said my stomach would be growling and id feel like passing out within hours. I really wasnt trying to hurt myself in anyway by not eating, Now that i hit two days im realizing somethings up and eating, I still dont feel hungry, At all, Or weak or tired.0

when your not hungry sometimes it means your under your calorie intake, and your body will trick your mind into using less energy for all activities to kind of avoid starvation. if you are having problems with knowing when to eat, just eat every 3-4 hrs, and fit those times into your schedule, and put it on an alarm on your phone, so that you know meal time is coming. it is crucial for health, and especially weight loss that you properly nutrition yourself.
and as far as hitting your calorie goals feel like? well you will go home not bloated, no headaches, you will have energy throughout the day, and the biggest thing for me when I know I hit the goal for the day, is when I run out of food and the feeling of SADNESS lol0 -

your mind can easily trick you into thinking you're hungry or that you're NOT hungry. if you truly haven't eaten in two days, understand that for either physical or emotional reasons, you don't feel hunger or don't recognize it. you can do yourself harm by not eating.
since you say your energy levels are "fine", either you should ask your doctor for a full physical and be sure and tell him this or your mind is playing tricks on you, and that really can happen.0 -
I don't trust the "eat when you're hungry" philosophy. The body isn't that great at giving out hunger and full cues, as we have all experienced. Just eat to your calorie goals.4

Funny enough I know what you feel. Sometimes I dont feel hungry but keep in mind that certain hormones levels, such as those that are released during exercise or during some women's menstrual cycle may overpower those released during hunger. The body needs the energy source even if you don't exactly feel it. So eat. I eat three times a day, even if I don't feel hungry. Sometimes it is small means around 350 calories eat. You don't even have to eat necessarily, why not try a fruit smoothie or those nutrition filled drinks? Normally around the 3rd day of minimal eating I get a really bad headache or nightmares. Just ensure you're not going starving the body...even if you dont get hunger signs1

Agreed about not trusting.
If you do trust your body cues, try to err on the deficit side and rely on the body scale for feedback. Our problem most of the time is overeating, not under eating.
That's basically what I'm doing. I'm not counting calories anymore. If I can deal with hunger without getting any kind of negative symptoms, I won't eat. But the weight isn't dropping fast enough! LOL.0 -
I suspect our body cues work better than some of you think.
It's just that some have ignored them for so long that they don't even recognize them.5
