30 Day Shred Question

Just got my 30 Day Shred DVD yesterday. I watched all the intro and previewed level 1. I couldn't find where Jillian mentioned how often to do the workout, just to move on to the next level when you feel ready. I thought I had read somewhere it's 10 days at each level (=30 days). Is 30 days of straight working out with no rest days really good for you? Or do you do it only so many days per week, and it's just the results are in 30 days? Help please!

I don't know if it's said in 30DS but in ripped in 30 (similar system) she says to do the workout 5-6 days per week but always take a rest day. And yes, each level is meant to be done for 10 days.

Great question! I don't know either but I've been considering giving 30DS a go but I'm also working my way through C25K and I don't want them to conflict on days I don't have time to do both. I'm curious to know the answer to your question, also.

I believe it is recommended to go as you stated 30 days straight 10 each level. I use it once or twice a week and just recently attempted lvl2 with modifications. I prefer to mix up my working out to prevent boredom. I dont however get the "shred" I would doing it daily. I dont think its harmful to workout everyday as long as you dont have injuries. Hope that is helpful :)

I made it 7 days and had to take a rest, it's pretty hard if you are starting out. It's pretty hard on my knees so I'm considering doing it every other day (modified) and doing Zumba or something else at the gym the other days.

    Good luck!

I just finished day 9 and I am doing 30 days straight. It is a 20 minute workout, not an all day commitment. I also run 2 mi/ day fro 6 days a week, so on Sundays (during these 30 days) I only do JM 30DS. I am already seeing results. I haven't weighed myself, but ALL of my clothes fit different, from my panties to my casual jackets. It is amazing. 9 days in 3 1/2 inches off my waist.

Try it every day for Level 1 and see how you do.

I will be doing the 30DS and every friday being a rest day so my body does not become over worked and give my knees time to rest.

Feel free to add me and we can do it together. I am on day 2 right now (well for the third time- LOL)

I've been on level 1 for 8 days and I've already lost an inch from my hips and an inch from my waist!!! I am MORE than happy with the results so far!!!:)
  • 6x a day. Always take one day of rest for your muscles to repair

Thank you! This is EXACTLY what I needed to know!

So it looks like it can be done either way.

Is it that hard on the knees? Level 1 didn't look so bad. I have been having some soreness in my knees and was hoping to use this as a break from Turbo Fire.
