Anyone else read this Gary Taubes book

and get totally depressed....so far only into chapter 4 of the Gary Taubes book Why We Get Fat and if I am reading it correctly he actually says all my efforts of eating right and exercise is really a waste of time.

Am I reading that right?

Anyone reading this or read it in the past with insight...hopefully he has some answers to my weight loss challenges in chapter 5 and beyond.

  • It made me sad that lots of my past efforts were wasted (though I'd already figured that out), but it gave me confidence in what I'm currently doing. When I first started low carb, I was pretty afraid, as I'd heard all of the urban legends about kidney failure, and cholesterol, etc. Reading that book gave me total confidence in this way of life, and has enabled me to understand and explain the science behind why low carb works and really is healthy. I love that book, and have bought copies for a bunch of people!

    Stick with it, and he'll definitely point you in the right direction! :)
