After years of strategically eating cheeseburgers & chocolate, whilst carefully avoiding salads, its all caught up with me. And guess what, just "thinking" about being slim and watching guys on Youtube doing parkour hasn't helped me a bit. So now I have to get off my considerable backside, switch off that damn TV (hey, there's never anything on anyway), I have get moving.
Keep on my back people - I need the encouragement.

If you're like a lot of us, beating yourself up for where you are is a regular and normal part of the day and a cancerous part of your mindset. Your post suggests that you want people to keep reminding you of past poor choices. Can I suggest that you look more for people who can be kinder to you than you are able to be to yourself right now? People who totally get it when one of those cheeseburgers calls your name to the point of insanity until you give in...and find out it wasn't as good as you remembered. If you're like me, there is NO ONE who can beat me up for my choices better than I can. That kind of "encouragement" makes me feel bad about myself. Since you're on MFP, ready to make changes, it's possible that you feel negatively about yourself already. I've learned throughout this process that I need to be my own best friend. I wouldn't want anyone else to beat me up, so now I don't allow ME to do that either. Just my own personal position. This is your life, your process to go thru. So I'm just putting it out there, you might want to look at this a little bit differently. And maybe ease up on yourself. This is one of my ways of doing my life...Every single decision does one of three things. It moves you forward toward your goal. It has you standing still. Or it moves you backwards. None of those decisions are "bad". They just are. You make the decision that is right for you at the moment and that you can live with comfortably. Good luck Brad. You can do this!6

I was just about to say that!1 -
That post made me lol! Thanks. Seriously though, it's not going to be constructive to beat yourself up, you just need to accept your situation and resolve to change it.1

When I go to the gym I watch tv on my phone-lots of comedy. It makes the time go by faster.

Welcome! You can do this! I was new less than 3 months ago & I've already lost 37 pounds (47/M, 5'11"; started at 230 lbs. & now 193).
Just stick to your numbers & get in cardio 3-4 times a week for at least 30 min. I travel frequently & still found it to be much easier than I expected, since I made the commitment.
Best of luck to you!0
