I don't log anything that's not done specifically as exercise or out of the ordinary as exercise.

I only log my specific workouts including my daily walk / jog of 2.3miles. Anything else is a bonus

I live in NYC so I walk a lot too. I don't count walking to the subway or the grocery store, etc. These are norm activities. I too have my setting on sedentary cause my day is spent glued to a desk. But if I walk the mile to the mall, that I count because it is a significant extra amount of activity, mile there mile back, that counts. Anything out of the norm, and of course gym work,

Sweat inducing, focused exercise for fitness purposes. Otherwise, it should be included in your activity level, ie: sedentary, lightly active, active, very active, etc.
