Strong lifts 5x5 just by itself?

I just began strong lifts. It says 3 days per week, so I'm thinking MWF. Can I do cardio or other weighed workouts as well as strong lifts on the same days? What about off days?

I actually started this last week. I have been doing 30-40 min on the treadmill after my lifting workout and then my 'off' days will depend on what I have for time. Yesterday I did 45 min on the treadmill and 20 min on the elliptical. I am going to continue like this for as long as I feel like I am making progress. If I start having trouble increasing my weights I will likely cut back the cardio a little.

Cardio, yes. I would not recommend additional strength training at this point.

Work into it. Personally, I incorporate this into my routine and get 45-60 minutes of lifting in each session, plus cardio. Let me tell you, if you jump right into a routine like mine, you will be exhausted right off the bat. Ease into it. Lifting will make your body much more tired than just running, or light lifting will. Try strong lifts, then if you still have energy the next session, incorporate cardio and so on. Always allow adequate rest time.

Depends on how active you are already. I wouldn't add any more DAYS of weights, but if you want to do some additional weights on MWF after SL5x5 feel free. There's actually a program called Ice Cream Fitness out there that does just that. If you're used to working out 5-6 days a week now, some light/moderate cardio is fine on your off days as well.

I don't do any additional strength training at the moment, just 5x5 but I have thought about adding some glute exercises.
I currently do some form of cardio after SL 5x5 (about 30 minutes of walking, running, elliptical or cycling, or a combination of a couple of them) then I run on the days I don't do 5x5.
