Are fat names stuck for life?

I guess this is more for guys as guys like to banter and joke about. When you jokingly get called names such as fat boy for example or porky by friends even after you've lost weight do these names still stick?
Or does it mean you're still fat? I realise I'm probably thinking to much into it but weight loss has been my obsession all year and I thought I made good progress being 83kg from 104kg which is a loss of 46lbs and being in a healthy BMI but does this still mean I'm over weight?

I can't really speak to the nickname part of it. I think people have had different experiences with it, and it depends on your friends. The real question is if you're happy where you are - do you like how you look? Are your blood markers good? Your BMI is good - how's your body composition?
If you're healthy and happy where you are, the nicknames don't matter.0 -
i don't mind people calling me big guy or big viking or other things..
but if anyone ever called me fat boy or porky, they would get warned once, or face the consequences.
Even if the consequence is just turning my back on them and never speak to them again.
like when i grew a beard, my family started calling me taliban... i sat them down, told them that if they ever called me that again, they would not see or hear from me ever again.
stick up for yourself.13 -
No, the names can't stick because you are "Teflon Man".1

??
If your nickname is Fat Fred and one day you go on holiday with the lads, tear off your t-shirt on the beach and are sporting a popping 6 pack, I don't think you would care. In fact, you'd probably relish being called Fat Fred.3 -
I think a lot of it is probably how you see yourself. You just need to work on re-inventing yourself. I need to do that too!1

The owner of the company I work for goes by Chunky. He got that name when he was 16 and has had it ever since - I've never known him to be "chunky", either.0

They can only be stuck for life in your head. Let go of the hurt and they will disappear.0

I have a cousin that was called Big Jamie most of his life until one summer when he was in his early 20s he lost a lot of weight and then bulked up. Now we just call him James. Lol ( Keep in mind we have like 8 James's in our family.) I think it depends on your friends and family.1

I think once people have known you for a while it is hard to change their perception of you. Like they might not even notice the nickname no longer fits. I took last week off from work and my grandmother joked about how she was going to call me up at 9:00 AM and wake me up. In her mind, I still sleep until noon if I don't have to get up. Never mind the fact that she is remembering me as a teenager. From 24+ years ago.0

If you are at a healthy BMI, then you are most likely not overweight.
Tell them it isn't appropriate to use that nickname if you don't like it!0 -
I dare you to mock Fat Tony, he's a made man.1
