if you take your almonds and soak them in the fridge in water they swell up and become the consistency of water chestnuts. super fun to eat!

  • I tried it - and it's totally delicious! Most nuts make my throat itch a little, but after soaking the almonds overnight, I didn't feel the itch at all! Thanks for sharing this neat little trick!

  • Great idea! I bought a GIANT bag of almonds a few weeks ago, and I was just wondering what else to do with them besides eating them raw or roasted. Thanks!

I put almonds in my protein shakes. Sometimes I just blend them up with milk and ice. They are delicious as a topping on salads, cottage cheese, yogurt, or cereal, or cooked vegetables. As nuts go, almonds are one of the lowest in fat, and so versatile. Raw ones are the best nutrtion-wise

they are good in almost anything. I like to put some through the coffee grinder and add it to my yogurt with a little honey or brown sugar and cinnamon
