Pcos

Hi, I know that people lose more weight who have pcos when they eat higher protein and lower carbs but what should the percentages of each and fat be? Thanks, Rebecca.

Idea: Open your diary and people will help you.
I like healthy carbs like barley, beans, and lentils, so I have no limit on carbs.
But you should avoid the junk foods and foods with added sugars.
My protein goal is 70 grams a day.

My carbs are set below 40% with very limited proccessed carbs. I also found calorie cycling with intermitant fasting really helpful. Some of the research points to this helping with insulin resistance. I've lost 40lbs since Jan and still going strong without feeling deprived.
    Hope this helps!

Mine is about 35% protein 35%fat 30% carbs but I change it up depending on rest days and training days. It doesn't matter that much really just try and keep that sugar down as that affects th Pcos more than anything. Any carbs you're eating should be complex (eg oats, brown rice, brown pasta, quinoa etc and not white bread, white rice, chocolate and candy/sweets etc), so keep that in mind and stay away from sugary drinks! Also try some weight training, your muscle:fat ratio has an effect on insulin resistance so losing fat and keeping your muscle mass up will also help in the long term. 15kg down since I found out I had PCOS (No idea if I was heavier than that, went years without weighing myself), so it can be done! Good luck ☺️

i agree with sugars being the biggest impact. but don't think about just regular table sugar - think about white rice, french fries, soda, any kind of corn or corn syrup - those are all "hidden" sugars. i have PCOS and just started a low GI diet to help. research glycemic index diet for PCOS.
