Could really use some tips. I've been on this journey for 8weeks and I've lost 20lbs I've got another 25lbs to go till I reach my goal. I have been doing really well and enjoying it. This is the best I have ever done before. But then this week I have been struggling emotionally. I keep having thoughts telling me I can't do this and I should give up. Its like I'm having a battle with myself. I want it so bad and am seeing great results but my mind is just fighting me. Not sure why it started I have done good on my eating and working out everyday so I dont understand why I feel this way. Anyone else ever struggled with something similar? What helps get passed it?

When those thoughts come, laugh at them. Remind yourself how hard you've worked and that you have been extraordinarily successful and tell those lying trolls in your head to get back under their bridge.
That said the 2nd half of your journey may take longer than the first. As you get closer to goal the weight comes off more slowly and you have to be even more particular about your logging. You may lose only 1lb or .5 lb or 0 lb some weeks. Do NOT let that discourage you. It is a normal part of the process!!!2 -
Thank you. Just was trying to figure out why I'm feeling this way.0

Is it TOM? Yes, I believe most of us have had moments where we just are not sure what and why we are doing this. With 20 pounds gone (congrats by the way) do your clothes not fit well, do you feel kind of lumpy, bumpy, flabby . . . you fill this in with whatever fits. I believe just like you may have been before deciding to lose weigh some days are good others not so good. You also might want to examine your diet and figure out what might be missing, fat, protein, etc..
To help get pass it I would suggest really trying to put your finger on what is bothering you and then move on from there, usually it winds up being something small that put us in a funk and in hindsight we would be to embarrassed to tell anyone. This is also a good time to learn something about yourself because it could happen again, then you will be prepared. One of the things I do when I get in that mood is put on my headphones and take a good walk, usually trying a new path and seeing things that I haven't seen - not necessarily a nature hike I live in San Francisco so just walking on a different street can be a whole new experience - the fresh air and exercise really helps.2 -
Pretty much every time I've ever tried to lose weight I end up getting depressed and giving up right around 15-20 lbs. The last time I did this I pushed through that and it got much better (until I just plain got lazy about it). I think the reason, at least for me, is that the first 15-20 lbs tends to come off relatively easy. That's when I lose the most water, etc. I think of it as the honeymoon phase of weight loss. After that, my losses tend to slow way down or I plateau for a while and it gets very depressing. But keep working at it, you'll get through these feelings and come out feeling stronger than ever!0
