No dressing needed Salad

As a kid, we never ate dressing with salad and never missed it.
Start with fresh greens, I like a mixture of romaine lettuce and spinach. Add "juicy" vegetables like cucumber, bell peppers, tomatoes. Sprinkle with garlic salt (I like McCormicks garlic salt with parsley) and black pepper- about 1/4 teaspoon. Sometimes I add a teaspoon or two of olive oil. Toss and enjoy. I like to let this sit refrigerated for a few hours in a covered bowl and enjoy for lunch. It is an easy and yummy way to cut calories and fat without sacrificing taste.
Add hard boiled eggs, chicken or beans for protein.
With 2 cups of romaine, a full cucumber, 1 cup broccoli, plus seasonings, the "base" salad (no meat or protein added) was less than 100 calories and filled me up. I highly recommend the protein to keep you fuller longer.
