When I input strength training into the exercise field it doesn't give me any calories off my daily total. Why is that?

Too many variables to accurately determine. If you're looking for a broad calorie guesstimate enter strength training under cardio0

Because you are entering it in the wrong part of the diary.
The strength part is just a diary, no calorie functionality.
Enter under Cardiovascular section - search for "strength training" and you will get a very rough calorie estimate based on your weight, METS and duration.
