I'm a 36 year old Christian, vegetarian, nursing student wanting to lose 70 lbs. I have 25 wks until my mission trip to Thailand so my goal is to lose 25-50 lbs by then. That's 1-2 lbs a week. I figured out that I'm lacking support in my weight loss journey. I have a membership to the gym and I am good at cooking healthy meals but without that accountability from a friend, its hard to be strong. We snack alot at school and sit all day. School is out in 2 wks and I'm ready to hit it hard! Who's in?

Congrats on starting and welcome to the forums! Support is an important part of the weight-loss journey, this forum will definitely offer you that. I have some friends that are in nursing school and some that work as nurses, they talk about that snacking situation all the time. The good news is you can bring in healthy snacks. You're also in a great place knowing how to cook healthy meals. What does your current exercise and nutrition program look like?

Good luck with your finals, my friends are going through them as well...hopefully you get more sleep than they do. Sounds like you have a nice gym. What's your exercise history like? What sorts of activities do you like? I'd recommend a mix of weight training and aerobic style workouts. Here's an example

    Monday: Weights
    Tuesday: Aerobic (Class/Pool/Racquet Ball/etc)
    Wednesday: Rest
    Thursday: Weights
    Friday: Aerobic (Class/Pool/Racquet Ball/etc)
    Saturday: Rest
    Sunday: Rest

On the nutrition side of things I'd start with creating a daily eating schedule so you'll have a rough idea of when you'll be eating.
