What's the workout? For strength training, i'd do a few light sets of the exercises in the workout.0

I've started jogging a few weeks ago, and I hold my stretches over 20 seconds. To prevent sore muscles. I didn't do this on my first jog and paid for it. I was sore for four days. Might also have something to do with me doing 5 k on the first day. Needing to stop after a few hundred meters. So next time I did my stretches and started with 2 k. Last time i was out I jogged 1 1/2 k without stopping and did a total of 5 k. My key... start slowly and work your way up . Drink plenty too.0

Depends on the person, depends on the workout.
For strength training I start light ('ish) and work up. I only do a specific warmup if I'm feeling particularly creaky - then I would normally use a rowing machine.
For cardio - no warmup at all. I exercise frequently enough it's not required.0 -
I do what ever sets I am actually going to work on but with a very light amount of weight first. Don't do a lot of reps either. a few is fine. Get some stretch, but don't work yourself while warming up. The more strenuous the "warm up" the crappier the workout will be.0
