Max heart rate

I have a new hrm and I have to enter in my max heart rate and low heart rate or something. I am confused on what it means and also if the numbers are not accurate will it make a difference in how much I burn? thanks for helping me b/c i am confused about that

max heartrate is normally 220 - your age. I don't know if it would make a difference for calories burned.0

It might help to tell people the type of HRM you have.

Try this link about Heart Rate Zones. You will see that certain 'zones' are better than others at burning fat vs. pure cardio strength.
