Need to make a start but feeling so disheartened at the thought of the journey taking so long!!
Is there anything I can do for a real quick start into weight loss? Yeah I know, everyone wants the answer to that one..
I've never been this big and unmotivated before!!
I made a start a couple weeks back, went too hard too soon, ended up so darn sore I didnt make it to day 2.
I've been following Kayla Itsines page of all the before and after transformations and gosh their impressive but the time line is like 12 months!!! I can't wait that long to lose this weight

If you want to safely lose weight (and not harm your organs, muscle, lose hair and nails) then you need to do it the right way. If you want to keep the weight off, you should probably include foods that you enjoy and can live with. There is no jumpstart. There is no safe quick way.

Simply decide you're going to do this, rain or shine, happy or sad, and do what you need to do every day. Eat what you want within the caloric goals MFP gives you. If you want to burn a little more, exercise.

Do you have a plan? Gym membership? Access to free weights, etc? Or do you plan on doing it up prison style with just body weight exercises? Have you done some dietary research on what your intake for a person your gender, size, weight are supposed to be for, what is essentially a cut diet? Considering you have a trainer in mind, have you purchased membership to stream her information so you can get started? Have you gone food shopping to make sure you can get RESULTS. It's the food that is going to make you or break you, believe me on this one.

I know the feeling :/ ive only been doing this for about 30 days and i still have so long to go... i dont know how i keep going, i just do. Having the discipline to do it even when you have no motivation (me) is the key to success, or mine at least.

The fastest way to lose that weight is to change your views and accept that this is not going to happen overnight. It's a b!tch to get in shape and takes lots of hard work but like anything else you do repeatedly, it gets easier. I read a quote once that truly got me going and with diabetes running in my family i had to make a change.

"Those who don't FIND time for their health today, will be FORCED to make time tomorrow"

So it all comes down to weather you want to willingly find the time now to give your body what it needs or wait til you start having complications due to a poor diet and your body forces you to go to the doctor or hospital even? Personally, I'd rather tell my body what to do than vice versa. And I know this sounds cliche but you gotta want your results more than your excuses. You can do this, you just gotta started! Come on, you got this! Don't fit in, when you were born to stand out!

Don't try to do everything at once. The time is going to pass no matter what. Do you want to be in the same place you are a year from now? Or do you want to make small, incremental changes that will add up over the course of the year. Maybe you won't be where you want to be, but if you make changes you can stick to, you will be headed down the right path.

I find that it's best to not think of this all as a chore. In my mind, it was always hardest when I thought, "Okay.. I have to do this today. I have to go to the gym and eat xyz food." Every time I thought of it like that, it was mentally brutal and I would go too hard for a few days and then binge and stop working out.

Some positive ways to view the big change that this calls for can be
    1. Instead of associating the gym with a negative feeling, think about how great you feel after and the fact that for everyday you do that, the healthier you will get. That everyday you do that, the closer to the Kayla Itsines type fitness level you want (I say it like that, but really closer to the body that is best for you.)
    2. Meal prep so you don't actually have to worry about what you will eat on a daily basis. That way, no matter what, as long as you eat your meal prep then you're golden and don't have to weigh down your mind with worry. It also can get exciting because you get to cook different things in large batches, and by the time you ate all your old prep, you get to hunt for something different and tasty to eat. You will start to realize that eating healthy doesn't have to be restrictive.
    3. Last but not least, don't even think about doing it. Just.. do it. Like the good old Nike slogan used to be. Just do it, make it a part of you, and take it day by day. The more times you do that, the easier it will get.

    Good luck!

DON'T start so hard. Don't make drastic changes. Don't expect all or nothing or you will end up with nothing. You just need to meet somewhere in the middle. Even baby steps help people lose weight. Remember this isn't just about losing weight..........it's also about keeping the weight off.

My exercise is a lifestyle change. It has to be or the weight will creep back up. So I don't spend hours in the gym, I'm old enough to realize that's not who I am (or will ever be). I do enough to keep up a decent fitness level.

There is no quick start that's worth anything really. You expect fast weight loss, you get that for a bit.....but at some point reality needs to set in because weight loss is a slow & tedious process.

There is no quick fix! We just gotta do it!! I still have 30 more lbs to go (i've lost 50 so far) and its gonna take me awhile too. And i had a baby in between so that really slowed my weight loss down lol. So add me if youd like to keep each other company for the next year while we literally* work our *kitten* off lol :p

Its not going to happen overnight. The best way is to make small changes that last. You'll find once you get into the habit of logging your food (as accurately as possible/ use a food scale) and moving more that it will get easier.
Just make a start TODAY, you'll be glad you did.

It's a long road for all of us. We all have to muster up the reason why we keep going and keep making the good choices. The motivation won't really come from looking at the pictures or reading about others other than it can give you hope that you can do it too. No one can do it for you, and yes the road is long and none of us gets a free pass. It's is one of the hardest thing any of us does. But day in and day out we make those choices and we count those victories, and they add up every day.

It's just like going to college or paying off a mortgage debt (this is a fat accumulation debt that must be paid with a few calorie nearly every day). If you consistently put in the work, knowing you are not perfect and will have a few days that are off, you will eventually graduate. You don't get to graduate unless you put in the work. There is no other door, it's door number one that gets you there. So you roll up your sleeves and you do it anyway. Even if you don't feel like it. Even if you are grumpy about it. And when you graduate to your goal, you still have to manage the budget or you'll go into debt again. That's how it works for all of us.

Just take it one day at a time, set small mini goals along the way. When I started 10 months ago, I thought I would never get there. I'm now at 95 lbs down and focus on tiny 5 lb goals, I'm still far from where I plan to be but it's ok. I also celebrate each milestone too! It's a long journey but so worth it! Enjoy the process and enjoy your body in each stage!

12 months or 2 years or 10 years will pass. No matter what you do. You can choose to use that time bettering yourself or you can choose to use it staying where you are. Things taking a long time is a silly reason not to do them.
