I'm honestly so ashamed of myself I've let my weight go so much & worst part is I do nothing about it. Everyday before I go to bed I say to myself tomorrow will be day 1 I have to eat healthy & be more active. When the day comes and it's lunch time I eat fast food or home made food (unhealthy) & I'm just so tired of it. I want to change my lifestyle I want to lose weight! I just wish I could take diet pills :c but i have low thyroid & it doesn't allow me too! Well I'm new to this app & I love you read your success stories & soon I hope I can have one of my own! If you have any tips on meal preps or healthy food recipes anything! I will appreciate it very much! Thank you (:

It is scary, especially if you try to change everything.

Try taking baby steps instead. Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint.

Start by logging what you eat for a week or two without making any changes. That will give you some data so that you can look to see where you might eat smaller portions and/or substitute foods that you like with other foods that you also like.

For exercise, find something you enjoy.

Change can be daunting, but getting in a healthier lifestyle isn't dangerous and it's no reason to be scared. Take baby steps.

Forget about diet pills. They don't work, but they can make you sick, and at any rate they are a waste of money.

What's that unhealthy food you're making? Ordinary home cooked food made from real food ingredients is usually healthy food. You don't need any particular recipes. If you deep fry everything, it's good to stop doing that, but other than that, food is good.

Just cook your food, portion it out in appropriate amounts, using a food scale - MFP tells you how many calories you should eat every day - log everything, and try to hit your goal every day.

I wholeheartedly agree with seska. Find some kind of physical activity that doesn't hurt, and do it.

It's just bad habits that you have and that you need to break. Do them one at a time. You can't overhaul a lifetime of bad habits overnight.

    1. Man up, take responsibility for what you've done and take responsibility to fix it.
    2. Make smaller goals, 1 day of eating healthy, now 3 days a week of eating healthy and so on.
    3. Exercise, it'll make you feel 100x better, maybe not at first but start light and build up. You'll catch the bug, everyone does.
    4. I make it my single goal, i shut down everything else in my life and focus every last neuron on my goal

I agree with the above posters. Take it one day at a time...I also have hypothyroidism and can relate to your frustration. I've had so many day 1's I can't even count them anymore. This last go round I did what others suggested. I logged in and just kept track of what I was eating without holding myself to the calories. Slowly I started making healthier choices and stuck to my calorie goal. Eventually I started adding exercise back in. It works. Just give yourself time and try not to have an all or nothing mentality. All of your smaller changes will come together and you'll get the hang of it.
