Fat USMC Veteran

Hey all

Like the title says, I feel like I am fat.

Combination of major depressive disorder (and associated pills), poor diet (Diet coke anyone?!), lack of energy, getting medically retired from USMC, new job (woohoo!).. = I am 5'7ish and 205lbs.

About me: I am a need a reward type person. If I say, if I lose 2lbs this week for a $20 prize, I will do it.

I am looking for people to "friend" who are either Veterans (can you speak "Marine") or supporters of Veterans.

Thanks for reading!

Semper Fi!

-Pete

Congrats on the new job, Pete! You were in shape for the Marines and you can get back into shape.

(I'm a reward junkie. Exercise has become its own reward for me, but if I eat right, I give myself prizes).

Air Force vet. More overweight than you, but making progress.
You are a Marine; so if an Air Force guy can do this, you can do it in your sleep.
Thank you for your service Pete.

    Oorah!

I wasn't in the military (not for lack of trying, bad shoulders) but I have many a friend that are/have been and my step dad and a lot of family friends were.

If I fit enough of your criteria, feel free to add.

Yep, I need a reward too. Feeling better, running faster, lifting heavier, sleeping better and living better are pretty damn good rewards. The leering looks from the wife are also a benefit. ;-)

So. Marine, get off your duff and get moving. You know what to do, now do it.

Welcome, and thanks for your service.

I'm ex-Navy, and a Desert Storm-era veteran. At 5'9", I was 235 at my chubbiest, down to the mid 170s now (and I've been here for about 18 months so far). My favorite exercise is riding and racing my bike.

If this mid-40s, desk-bound ex-Squid can get into shape and lose weight, a Marine certainly can!

I sent you one. BTW you do it by clicking on the username, when a new box opens up, click the username again and the friend button should come up.

Retired Air Force Vet, 25 years, was overweight, got healthy, then got sick and let my diet and exercise program lapse, time to kick it in the butt and start again!
