Does it have a major factor in weight loss? Should I sleep eight hours everyday?

Everyone requires a different amount of sleep. My husband does well on 6-7 hours, whereas I need 8, when I'm not training, to be at my healthiest.0

I'm no expert by any means but EVERYTHING I have ever heard says "you need plenty of sleep"! I have a 23 month old so I get NO sleep... messes ya all up! So I am a firm believer you need minimum 7-8 hours every night - but like i said - i'm no expert just what i have always heard...0

Sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your body. It helps in weight loss, energy levels, and overall health.

Dr. Oz said we do need 8 hours sleep. I don't get it with menapause waking me up during the night.0

sleep is when your body repairs and rebuilds tissue....yes affects weight loss...I just finished a course on sleep for my psychological degree (psyd) in sports performance psychology
6-8 hours0 -
When you're sleeping, you're not eating!!!! Ok, I'm sure there are other benefits to sleep too.0

Sleep controls your energy, mental focus, and ability to control your diet. If you're consistently tired your exercise will be poor, you may just say the hell with the dietplan and eat something you shouldn't, and possibly fall into some depression. Get your sleep, 7-8 hours.0

Sleep however long you need to. Not everyone requires the same amount. 6-7 is about all I can do. My wife is at about 8-9.
To answer your question; yes you need to sleep. Otherwise you'll die. So I'd suggest trying it out.0 -
Haha that was my philosophy!0

I have severe sleep apnea - so when I don't sleep 'well' through the night via CPAP (machine that puts air into my lungs when I stop breathing) my body has not recovered from my workouts the day before and it makes my workouts the next day poor.0
