Raw Cocoa Nibs Anyone?

Options
I'd love to hear any simple recipes for using cocoa nibs. I bought some after learning of the benefits but haven't got a clue what to do with them yet!

The only one I know if is they are loaded with magnesium...like super loaded. Other than that...there's a lot of woo surrounding raw cacao.

OP...you can just eat them. I throw them in my morning protein shake, but some people snack on them in lieu of a candy bar.

I put them in a salad or Greek yogurt. To me, they taste pretty dry when I eat them plain.

Love them. I grind them in my coffee grinder and pour them into my protein shakes.

They are full of antioxidants as well as magnesium, iron and calcium and help the production of serotonin for mood lifting qualities... Said to be nature's antidepressant

Thanks, I'll give them another go on their own... Think it may be an acquired taste

You could also drop a couple in your morning coffee.
I add cocoa powder to mine every morning. 1/3 tsp. Small amount has plenty of benefits.

I personally can't stand them, but I don't mind them as much blended into a protein shake since it feels like chocolate chips :p

Yeah, they are a good addition to healthy homemade granola too.

I've had the same bag of cacao nibs for the last five years. I don't enjoy them like chocolate bars.

I wasn't sure what cacao was so I googled it, it's just chocolate then? Raw chocolate? I'm curious about all things chocolate so I'll be following this thread for ideas :)

I'd guess you could replace chocolate chips with cocoa nibs in recipes like cookies and muffins?

I used to eat them covered in chocolate :)

They're also yummy mixed in with lightly salted toasted coconut flakes.
