Hello Everyone!
So today at the gym - I did my normal cardio warm up and went right into my lifting. Lets me honest - its only about three weeks into my working out hard core (Mon:Lift Tuesday:cardio Wed:Lift Thurs: cardio Fri: Left Sat:REST sunday Cardio) and I am older so I don't expect my results to be like they were when I was 19. Because, well life doesn't work that way! LOL I still find I have this wonderful round ties flab bit that goes all around me. Like a tire! I can see my upper Abs, my *kitten* is looking fine, my arms are shaping up but this frikking GUT THING WHATEVER needs to go! What on earth am I doing wrong!!!
I have a hard time with Crunches because of my tail bone, so when I do do them they are usually standing (could that be the issue) and given I could probably do more.
I don't know if it is my diet or what not!

Anyone have suggestions? Diet tips? Workout tips?

Let me know!

Thanks ;)

Why would you think you're doing anything wrong? You're only 3 weeks into this. Nobody loses their gut flab that quickly. Be patient.

Also, FWIW, crunches are not going to specifically burn the fat off of your middle. We can exercise to build specific muscles but we cannot pick specific areas of the body off of which to burn the fat.

^^^this...just keep exercising and lifting while eating at a calorie deficit and it WILL go away, it just takes time and patience

Love handles are an area commonly referred to as "stubborn fat", which is the last to go. As you'll hear ad naseum on here, you cannot spot reduce; the only way to get rid of that stubborn problem area is to reduce your body fat % throughout. Eventually, when your fat stores are sufficiently depleted, the stubborn fat will go too.

Most everyone struggles with this in some way. My lower back area seems to always retain some cushion, even when my upper and lower ab definition is very visible.

There's some great info on the subject here: http://www.leangains.com/2010/06/intermittent-fasting-and-stubborn-body.html

Thing is you are expecting results like you're 19 if you think 3 weeks is enough to lose body fat around the waist which may have taken 7 years to put on.
It may take you 6 months dependent on your calorie deficit and genetics and now that you're "older" now.

I have the same thing and it hasn't gone away in 16 months of lifting weight and 4 years of eating right and losing 30 pounds. It's gotten smaller but it's still there. I've always had that "tire" of fat, from the moment I hit puberty so I don't think it's going anywhere soon. I wish the 80s jeans would come back in style. You know, the high waisted ones that sucked your love handles in? LOL :D

I just say my spare tire used to be a 20" but now it's a 14".
