Besides the holiday weight gain I had a procedure done that caused me not to get my exercise in. I have restarted today and my goal is to make sure I log everything and be honest with myself. It sure is disheartening putting this weight back on. My goal is 155 pounds and I want to lose 1 pound a week until I get there.

If you have 75+ lbs. to lose, choose to lose = 2 lbs./week
" " 50 to 75 lbs. to lose, choose = 1.5 lbs./week
" " 20 to 50 lbs. to lose, choose = 1 lb./week
" " less than 20 lbs. to lose, choose = .5 lb./week
Note that you'll probably lose inconsistently and scale fluctuations are normal. You're looking for a gradual, overall downward trend. It's smart to choose a reasonable calorie goal - nothing drastic.2 -
