Fitbit heart rate and Eating/Drinking

Does eating and drinking also affect heart rate? My Fitbit heart rate is usually in the 70's or 80's when I'm sitting. Now after eating and drinking 2hrs ago it's been the 100's. Has anyone else ever noticed this? I'm thinking it's because of my energy drink, but I have had a ton of them since getting my Fitbit and I've never noticed this before.

Looking back on my Fitbit chart, I'm honestly starting to think the caffeine I've been drinking has been giving me "exercise" calories. haha0

I see this all the time. My HR spikes right after lunch and stays elevated in the high 80s-90s all afternoon while I sit at my desk (my RHR is usually around 65), which is crazy since it's in Fitbit's "fat burn zone." My caffeine intake probably helps bump things up, too.
I actually haven't been trusting my FB calorie burn numbers since I got my Blaze, unfortunately.

That's so weird. I have the Blaze and I'm constantly checking my steps and heart rate. I ate dinner and had an energy drink for my shower, but I was feeling a bit weird for just sitting down, so I checked my Fitbit and I noticed my heart rate was going up and down in the 100's, it lasted for hours. I've been drinking Diet Pepsi for the last few days instead of the caffeine free soda I usually have, and my heart rate is in the 90's right now, but it's usually in the 70's or 80's when I'm sitting down.0
