So we ate at Cheesecake Factory yesterday...

My mother and I are going at this together, and we were out with my Grandmother yesterday, so we decided to do lunch!
My mother believed that the Cheesecake Factory had calorie counts on their menus. In fact, as most of you are probably aware, Cheesecake Factory is notoriously bad about hiding the content in their food. It's just so FRICKEN bad!
I can't even begin to describe to you the feeling I got yesterday after punching the numbers in for eating HALF of my lunch. What a douzey! And I got something that I THOUGHT was healthy too.
Never again my friends, never again.

don't worry, we've all been there. i used to eat there all the time and i just loved it. i thought the food was of a high quality and so delicious. i used to get the chicken salad sandwich with a side salad for lunch, or the skirt steak with mashed potatoes for dinner. both of these things are well over 2000 calories and GOD ONLY KNOWS the amount of fat that is in it. interestingly, the cheesecake factory didn't release the number of fat grams, just saturated fat.
maggianos, one of my former favorite restaurants, is just as bad and i nearly DIED when I saw the amount of calories, fat, sugar and salt was in my meal.
i am totally for the law that requires these places to post the calorie counts on their menus! we don't have it in PA yet, but hopefully someday!0 -
LOVE cheesecake factory, HATE how bad it is!
I rarely go now..I think I've been there 3x in a year (which is nothing compared to last year.. maybe once a month!) and just eat half my sandwich and get vegetables on the side. and I skip the bread they give you. and just get water.
But now I'd much rather go somewhere else where I can actually enjoy myself, rather than cheesecake factory where I'm like, uh is this sandwich really worth 1300 calories? And even if I eat half... puh-lease, that is still like 650.
UNECCESARY CHEESECAKE FACTORY.
And it should be a law for ALL restaurants, chains and non-chains, to post their nutrition!0 -
They have all their nutritional information posted on their website, so it shouldn't be any big surprise to you. I always get the weight management grilled chicken (it's delicious!) and ask my hubby to share a slice of cheesecake with me lol.0

ahhh! yes, they are notoriously unhealthy. i recieved a gift card for $25 to there.... any possibly semi-healthy options you guys can think of? i haven't used it yet because i'm terrified of their calorie counts.0

Whatever you do, don't get the Mac and Cheese!!!
And they only have 4 entrees on their extensive menu that boast less than 600 calories. Sad, sad, sad Cheesecake Factory.0
