There are about a million running tracking apps.
Which one would you recommend ??
I'm not sure where to start ?
I'm moving and will have the opportunity to run outside a lot more (getting off that treadmill!

I like Strava and MapMyFitness. The former because it's good socially and to see your progress in hitting milestones - PBs etc, and the latter I used from before I joined Strava so continued to use. You can play music and it'll give you audio feedback on your distance and pace at the same time. Both you can auto-sync to mfp. I only sync MapMyFitness though and I manually correct the calorie burn in there by editing my activity to be in line with my HRM so that the correct calories are then added into my diary in MFP for me.1

I'm a beginner runner. I like the Nike app or Fitbit all because it shows you a map of what you run. I like to look at the weird shapes of the path when I switch up my normal route3

runkeeper is good and shows ur start and ending point on a map and mapmyfitness is also good. just remember to save your workout when ur done.1

I use MapMyFitness1

Ismoothrun is great, you can customize intervals at varying pace times, add rest periods and track by pace or distance with audio cues. It has an auto pause feature as well.1

Nike Running hands down !! I like it better than any other running apps which I've used in the past like Edomondo, RunKeeper, MapMyRun, Runtastic, Zombies Run.. And plus I use my Fitbit Blaze which I barely bought and its amazing!!
I've realized that I've becomed addicted to Nine Running and Fitbit .. I always see myself looking at the app 24/7 lol3 -
I love strava cause lots of my friends are on it

Another vote Strava!!!1

I'm a baby runner, but I really like Strava (I'm obsessed with numbers) and ZombiesRun. The Zombies5K training app is what helped me get to running 5K.2
-
I love mapmyrun and zombies run
I can never get strava to work, it never records my runs which is super annoying!2 -
C2k5 helps get into distance. But I also use map my run to get more details for calories burned and distance. I love that when I am finished I see how fast each mile is, as well as the calorie burn.

I'm going to download a few and try and em out. Maybe run them simultaneously to see what they say0

I like Runkeeper for setting intervals, it's quite easy to make custom workouts.0

I prefer Strava, but I also can't get it to record. So I just use a watch. I've had somekind of Garmin Forerunner longer than I've had a smartphone.
I've only tried to record via the app recently Nordic skiing over the winter. Nothing. (LG G4)0 -
I have a Garmin watch - what I do is upload my runs to Garmin Connect, then I have Strava connected to my Garmin account so the runs then appear there automatically. There is also a site (Tapiriik) that you can use to sync runs across a range of apps.0

I used to used to use Runkeeper, but now that I have a Garmin watch, I use Garmin Connect.0

Strava here too0

I've used a few, but Runkeeper is my favorite. It seems the most accurate (I've never used Strava, though, so I can't speak to that one).1

Runkeeper. Its flexible you can create any interval you want either timed or distance

I use my Garmin 220 during my run to track the route, pace, heart rate, etc. and listen to Zombies, Run! while running. I sync my watch to Garmin Connect and then to Smashrun which has lots of great stats.0

I have tried Edomondo, MapMyRun, Nike+ and Strava and currently keeping MapMyRun and Nike+...
Edomondo: it have the least number of features with the free version, so, it got dumped the soonest. But I have a friend using it, so, perhaps, there is something nice about it and I just haven't noticed yet.
Nike+: I liked it a lot at first, many nice features with the phone App and very nice looking interface. At one point, this is the only app I used. But a few times, it did not record for me or lost a good portion of my run. The most disappointing occurrence was when I ran with my 6 y.o. in a 5k race and it only had the first 0.5 mile of data
MapMyRun: This is the very first app I used. I began using it for hiking before I started running. So, I naturally just start using it for running too. I like the challenges, somehow it does motive me to move more. Perhaps, they are usually very doable.
Strava: I started using after I started having problems with Nike+ and saw on MFP that many people use it and claimed that it is most accurate. I like that it would automatically find all your runs with the same route and link them in your running activity, making it very easy to see if I am making progress. I also like the segments as someone else said.1 -
Strava. My Garmin fenix 3 auto syncs to it.0

OP update ::
So far all the ones I'm testing seem to give me the same time/distance data. With only a tiny variance in calorie burn.
I really like Runkeeper with the challenges and goals and things but I'm also on a free trial of the premium which I won't be able to pay for. I haven't had a chance to actually run through one of the training sessions but it looks like a nice feature
Nike+ has been pretty great so far too.
I really like that it'll pause itself when I get stuck at crosswalks and such. And that it gives me a list of achievements at the end of my run.0 -
Coming from a Runner and a Cyclist, personally I use Strava, and Garmin Connect. I've used a ton over the past year or so and I keep coming back to those two.
I used Endomondo but I found the lack of features to be a downfall.
I really REALLY like the Wahoo Fitness RunFit app but they do not support Android as of yet. So that's a kick in the pants.0
