Flared Ribs? Help!

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place or even have sufficient information. However, here I am!

I think I have flared ribs. Specifically my left one. I think the right is fairly normal. My left on the other hand sticks out quite a bit, and it has a slight "discomfort" (can't think of a better word, but it feels odd when I push on it, I don't get that on the other side).

I'm not one to normally run to a clinic or anything, so I'm hoping I can gain some insight here first. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it possible to corrected a flares rib?

I do have crap posture now which I'll be working on. I'm trying to lose weight on my stomach and I'm worried it's going to be even more of an eye sore.

Help?

was it like that always? If not see the doc. If it was and it hurts, see the doc

Time to see a chiropractor! My wife has the same thing and it is due to problems she has with her back. And yes, keep working on that posture!

Go to physical therapy. Most states now have direct access, meaning you can see a physical therapist without first seeing your physician (saving you $). A good PT can not only help to fix the flared ribs but should show you postural correction exercises and ensure that you're doing your core and other exercises properly to prevent a recurrence. No it wasn't, I noticed it some time after my second son, and my posture has only worsened over the years so I think I've done it to myself opposed to genetic. It definitely doesn't hurt, sometimes it's a little sore (after I push on it for a bit like a moron). I'll definitely check with a professional.

    Thanks!

My kids pushed my ribs out, they really enjoyed kicking against them when I was pregnant. Hasn't caused me any problems.
