Turbo Jam/Hip Hop Abs

Hi all. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried either, or both, of these routines? I've seen infomercials on them and they look like they could be fun and beneficiary.
Normally I don't pay much attention to infomercials, but since these don't require me to buy expensive machines, they caught my attention. I'm tired of walking on the treadmill and doing crunches. I enjoy pilates, but those routines get old really fast. I need something to keep me entertained or loosing pounds and inches falls to the wayside.
If you haven't tried these programs, maybe you could suggest something that you have tried that has been fun?
Thanks.

I love love LOVE Turbo Jam. Honestly. It is a LOT of fun & you really do get the "total body workout" that it claims you do. My favorite thing about it is that I'm never having a stare-down with the clock. It is broken into really good time frames so that it isn't boring at all & keeps moving. Before you know it, you're done! I've tried Slim In Six & the Walk Away the Pounds dvds, but this is by FAR my favorite!
(did I sound like the infomercial? )0 -
I worked at Showcase..the "As Seen on TV Store" for a while, so I've tried most of the videos.
I LOVED Hip Hop Abs.. I swore by it for the longest time, until I lost it
I would do that along with a light pilates routine in the morning. It worked amazingly, as long as you are "tilt, tuck and tightening" as he says!!!!
I just got Turbo Jam tho, so I'm going to try that out too!0 -
Turbo Jam is great. For a beginner like me, after about two months, I am just now able to finish the 45 Minute Cardio Party without having to take a break. Now that I can finish it and have learned the moves, I love it more than ever. I've lost weight AND inches since starting Turbo Jam and MFP. I bought Turbo Jam from the infomercial. It came with five workouts, recipes, and the wrist weights. I bought my own set of 5 lb weights to use during Turbo Sculpt and feel I get a much better workout with those instead of the wrist weights. The music is motivating, and I don't get bored with the five different workouts. Be prepared to SWEAT!!!!!
Not sure if you've seen the 10 Minute Solutions DVD's at Wal-mart, but I bought the Flat Belly Fast one, and I really like it too. It has five 10 min. workouts that are useful, especially when I'm short on time but still want to feel like I've put some exercise into my day. And my abs burn when I'm done, so I know I'm doing something!
Good luck!!!0 -
Good point, MollysMom! One of the things with Turbo Jam is to give yourself time. It takes some time to learn, find your balance & stamina. Start with the Learn & Burn, work your way into the 20 min. workout & then bump up to Cardio Party (40 min.). Just like everything else, it is a learning process! But a FUN one! :happy:0

I am naturally uncoordinated, so the first few times were a real sight for sore eyes. Now I'm footloose. And sometimes I think I'm not going to finish and want to slap Chalene, but then the next song starts, and then it's John Travolta here I come.:noway:0

I used bad words during AbJam today.BUT, I finished it & it really wasn't all THAT bad...good thing I only do that one 2 or 3 times a week! LOL0

You go girl! AbJam WILL definitely make you curseth!0

I just started Hip Hop Abs and I was glad no one was watching. I am so uncoordinated. I couldn't do much the first day, but I'll try again.... I just finished P90X and have toned some, but now I'm looking for some weight loss. I haven't tried Turbo Jam. Both programs look like fun+work=calories burned!
I don't think you could go wrong with either program. The trick is to just do something! Good luck and have fun along the way.0 -
I have the Hip Hop Abs and I love it. After a couple weeks of doing it about 3x a week, I actually felt like everything was a little tighter. It's fun, fairly low impact, I would break a sweat and has a good cool down/stretch period. Doesn't hurt that Shawn T. is nice to look at too!!0

I have Hip Hop Abs & really love it! I just got it in the mail last week & started doing it the same day, it really doesn't feel like it's a workout as far as looking at the clock trying to figure out when you're going to be done. It's really fun! I also do the Slim in 6 Ramp it Up for the leg workout, Debbie is great for that!0

I have Turbo Jam and love it! I have the original 5 workout set with the hand weights, etc. plus I bought some extras on beachbody.com - Fat Blaster, Punch Kick & Jam, and additional cardio workouts. The sculpt workout really works your arms and legs. The ab workout has 10 minutes standing and 10 minutes floor work - seems to go pretty quickly but the floor work is tough. I just ordered Chalene's new program, Chalean Extreme - I can't wait to get it!0

I bought Turbo Jam on ebay this weekend. Can't wait to get it in the mail0
