Weight gain and prescribed steroids

I recently was prescribed steroids for a slipped disc in my back. I know a side effect can be weight gain. Although, I have only been on them for 2 days, I've already gained a little. I have been very conscious about not overeating since I know they can make you feel hungry and I've come in under my calorie goal both days of being on them. Anyone know how to counteract this? Drink more water or something. I'm not on them for much longer, but it's making me mad that I see the weight going up even though I am not overeating.

I had to take prednisone several times. I gained weight each time, while dieting. Good luck! I don't know of anything that counteracts it. How long do you have to be on them?0

I think I have 3 or 4 days left. So, not long. I don't understand why the weight increases unless it fluids or something. Oh well, I'll get past it. Just extra annoying when I'm trying so hard! Guess I'm not alone.0
