I have a significant amout to loose. I have been doing everything right. Staying within 1500 calories, Eating right, excercising and the scale is just not moving. Please tell me the scale gives in eventually.

Are you eating all of your exercise calories and drinking plenty of water?0

Are you drinking enough water (at least 8-8oz. glasses per day)? Eating your exercise calories? Check out some of the "sticky" threads on the boards (they'll be the ones at the top that are just kinda stuck there ). They answer a lot of questions!0

 you beat me to it.0 -
Are you getting lots of fresh fruits and veggies? Be careful of too many processed foods....they contain tons of sodium which can make you retain water.0

Ditto to the above. Don't be afraid to eat all of the calories. Our bodies main function it to maintain equilibrium and it won't let go of the fat - it's life keeping fuel - if it thinks it's being starved to death. Our bodies are so tempermental!:grumble: Hang in there!:flowerforyou:

I was stuck at one weight for about six months and then I started with MFP and the scale started moving again. Make sure you eat all your calories in a day and figure out your meals (sometimes I do this before I eat them just to make sure I'm within my goals)
Good Luck.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -

For the 1500 calories that you are eating...............what types of foods are you eating?
Fresh meats ????
Fresh Veggies ???
Fresh fruit ???
Fresh, whole grains ???
Drinking plenty of water?
Maybe you can post a menu and we can help point you in the direction............0 -
Another thing you could do that always makes me feel better is take your body measurements every so often - I try to take mine every two weeks, or at the first of the month. It makes me feel ALOT better when I can see I am losing inches - just the scale is not moving. and YES it will finally move .... don't give up!!0

Thanks for the pep talk everyone. I am adjusting my sodium hoping that it will let loose so to speak.
I have been eating tons of fiber also. One would think it would go right through... Nope.
If I get a chance I will post a menu.
Thanks!0 -
I have a significant amt to lose too- I am going 100% by MFP calorie recommendations for 1 lb loss/week. That is enough for me right now. So far so good.
Definitely drink drink drink water. I've heard several times befor to drink 1/2 your body weight in water...it does make a difference.0 -
I did everything right and didn't see a change in the scale for over a week. When it did go down it was 2 lbs..so I would give it two weeks! I almost lost all my motivation and then BAM it happened!0

Eat a huge salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing and don't be stingy with it. Sounds like all of the weight is in your colon bound up in some fiber! Lots of fresh water holding veggies should help. I had to eat baby carrots and several salads to get the fiber moving again. When you eat too much without enough liquid to push it through it just hangs out in there!:drinker:
