Hi I am not new to MFP but here I am trying for the one millionth time to stay committed and motivated to drop some weight! Quick intro... I am a homeschooling stay at home mom to 4. Happily married for 13yrs to my best friend. I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes =( it runs on both sides of my family so it was kind of inevitable. I have been overweight and obese for as long as I can remember. (Sigh). Just sad. I don't want diabetes killing me. I want to be here for my family. I want to "reverse" it and control it myself with no meds or insulin. I know to do this I need to get active and eat right. I am not trying to just lose weight, but just try and begin a healthy lifestyle and let the weight loss be a bonus. I am at 250 right now. My goal for now is to get to 200. Once I hit 200, I will make my next goal. =) If you are VERY active on MFP, have a weight loss goal to lose 50lbs+, and would like to connect and be friends feel free to send me a friend request. Thanks for reading my post. Take care and blessings!

Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 2 May 2015 - it's in my family too, but I was also carrying too much weight. MFP has helped me lose 2.5 stone so far and last checks showed me back to pre-diabetic levels so it really does work. Best of luck with your goals.
