Cardio/Weights After Gallbladder Surgery

Ok so this up and coming Friday 6/10/16 it will be two weeks since I had my gallbladder removed. I have healed nicely, no pain, feel amazing!! Crazy how a little organ like that can cause so much pain...hahahaha
Anyway, I'm looking for advice to see if it's a good idea for me start back working out. Nothing heavy or a long cardio session BUT maybe some light weights and about 30 mins of cardio.
Would greatly appreciate any advice and I know everyone heals in different ways!
Thanks Everyone!!!

It's best to act your doctor. If you weren't given any restrictions, though, my educated guess would be as soon as you feel like it, being careful not to overdo it. I had my removed a few years ago...but they left stones in my liver duct so my liver started failing. Not fun. My recovery wasn't typical, obviously. Initially before I had those complications I wasn't given any restrictions.1

Thanks! Yeah he told me to go ahead and do my normal activities. Sounds like your surgery didn't go very well (sorry to hear). I mean I have no pain, incision are healed great I just need to be very careful I guess1 -
Even though your doctor told you to go back to your normal activities does he know that you exercise and what types of exercise that you do. I've had a couple surgeries where the doctor told me I can go back to my normal activities but when he says normal activities he might think like walking housework driving the car he may not figure that you're doing any type of exercise or what your exercise routine is. Best to discuss it with him good luck and feel better2

2 weeks isn't very long, even if it was a laparoscopic surgery. I second Steve's advice about telling your surgeon exactly what it is you do for exercise. Docs often say resume normal activities, but what if you're a powerlifter? Or a marathon runner? That changes things.
It's awesome that you're feeling so great though! Congrats! I bet you'll be back in your routine in no time.0 -
Start with lots of walking , then light weights, and progress from there. My doc said it takes 4-6 weeks for all the muscle layers to fully heal, even on a lap.1
