I started a diet on March 29th of this year and have managed to lose 20 pounds this far; however for the past month I have come to a roadblock of which I cannot seem to breakout of. I do not exercise and don't know if that is exactly what I need.. Please help by sharing some feedback!!

Are you weighing food and logging it?1
-
I am logging it but do not have a scale as of yet. I am learning about the food weighing now. I make it a point to measure and eat the amount instructed in order to keep up with the calorie counting.0

Food scale is eye opening! Get one!2
-
Yes so I hear. I am most definitely getting one this weekend.1

Food scale and reevaluate your calorie goals based on your recent loss. Kudos!1

2 1/2 months and 20 pounds... holy cow that is awesome.
Did you recalculate calories for each 5 -10 pounds you lost? I hope so..
Food scale a total game changer! Ozeri for 20 bucks on Amazon.. saved me from weight loss turmoil.
If you don't weigh the food the closer you get to goal OR in your case a stall, the calorie counting become more and more reliant on the food scale..2 -
No I did not recalculate the calories
I am now going off the estimate MFP has setup for me.
I have 74 pounds more to go0 -
Ty dlkfox, but how do I recalculate the calories. I did it here based on my current weight now after losing the 20 pounds. So was that how it is?0

Awesome ty so much for the tips0

Two things: If you get a digital food scale, first thing you do is identify the batteries and buy a couple of packs of replacement batteries. Until you get a digital food scale, use the next smaller size of measuring cups. I got by using 1/3 cup when I thought I wanted 1/2 cup.0

If you've been on a diet for about 9 weeks and no weight loss for a month, that means you lost 20 pounds the first 4-5 weeks and then nothing. That's really a lot for such a short amount of time. Something here doesn't quite make sense to me?

What was your doctor's advice about the plateau?1 -
I have not seen the Doctor as of yet since my plateau. My next appt. is in 4 weeks. I started with a weight of 249 and I am at 229 now.0
-
Are you still using the appetite suppressant?0
-
Not right now0
-
What my doctor told me is, if you hit a plateau, change your exercise routine. If you were running, try bicycling; if you were not lifting, start lifting, etc.1

Awesome thank u0

Did you go off of the suppressant because that was a part of the plan your doctor laid out for you, or did you go off of it on your own?
If your doctor had a plan for you and it's not working out, you should call the doctor's office and ask questions to see what advice you can get so you don't have to spend the next 4 weeks wondering what you could be doing differently.0 -
I got off on it myself... And thank u for the advice will do0
