My motivation for the up and coming holiday is going to be this. I have been do so well keeping around 200 calories under my calorie goal each day so that on the fourth I will have a burger and some fixings on the side in moderation without stressing that on that day I will give my self permission to enjoy each and every bite. I know I will go over my calories but to prepare for that I will make sure to get on my recumbant bike before our family gathering, get in some swimiming time in the pool and get on my bike again in the evening. It feels soooooo good to be in control and motivated. What will your motivation be to keep you on track this 4th???:flowerforyou:

It's so great that you have a wonderful attitude. We ARE in control. Throwing in a little extra exercise can certainly help us enjoy the holiday AND the food. Happy 4th!

Just exactly like you said - add exercise so you can have some foods you wouldn't normally. Moderation is key. And you got it right when you said to enjoy - savor every bite! Happy Fourth!

Enjoy the day... allow it to even out over the week and you will be fine. You have the right thought about exercise and moderation.

I am traveling 700 miles to be with family and celebrate the 4th of July and I too am wondering how I am going to keep me in line. I have been craving the foods from back home and I go once a year to indulge. This yr is different because I care about my weight and my health more than indulging. I plan to eat a bit less of everything I want and be more physical Perhaps walking to the restaurant and back lol... We have mentally changed and I know this because here we are posting and replying to our concern. We will have fun and still be good to ourselves!
