Sweet tooth

I have the biggest sweet tooth ever. Does anyone else have this problem? I can eat clean for lunch, breakfast, and dinner, but I'll crave chocolate or something sweet in between meals all the time. It's probably why I gained two pounds in just three months.

Have you tried pre-logging a treat each day or leaving a set amount of calories free for a treat? That way you can indulge your sweet tooth and stay within your goals.

A spoonfull of coconut oil or manuka honey curbs my cravings. Or I'll have a chocolate milkshake made with skimmed milk or rice milk made with nesquick powder. Sorts me right out.0

If you like ice cream, try Arctic Zero. Kind of expensive ($5/pint) but most of them are about 300 cal/pint. They are gluten free, some are lactose free, and are pretty good. I usually get the brownie blast one which has dark chocolate chips in it and tastes really good. You can find them at Walmart or target or meijer. Usually solves my sweet tooth, and only 75 cal/serving.0

Just stop, if you have a goal and the craving is beating you everytime then you really don't want to loose those extra pounds. 99% of the time it's will power. Fruits are a great sweat snack fyi.1

I would beg to defer that i have the worst sweet tooth but then so will all things sweet lovers out there. I just went out and bought me ben&jerry's caramel chew chew and weighed out half the container because i was netting under 800kcal for the day and still left with roughly 380kcals. Perfect excuse . As long as it fits into your daily allowance, why not.1

Chocolate chip cookie dough lara bars are sweet and yummy! Also, you can make "snickers" by stuffing a date with some chunky peanut butter and drizzling or coating it with melted chocolate chips. If I don't have time to melt chocolate or I want a quick snack you can just stuff them with chocolate also, soooo good!3

I eat sweets everyday. I put real sugar in my coffee and eat sweet treats too. My favorite right now is Greek yogurt. I love the Chobani flips and several of the flavors have chocolate in them. I just fit stuff like that into my goals.1

I have a sweet tooth, but I don't fight it or I'll always end up binging. I include sweets in my daily calories. It can be done. If you look around on here, you'll see so many who have lost a lot of weight eating their favourite foods.
I eat sweets every day, and have done so throughout my 85lbs loss, and will continue to do so for the next 50.

Sugary foods is a pretty big failing in my food choices, especially chocolate. Usually I'm good about fitting them into my food goal, but sometimes I'm a little over. I just try and do the best I can.0

I have a sweet tooth as well. What works for me is finding low calorie sweets I like (10cal jelly pots, 90cal chocolate mouse, smaller multipack versions of chocolate I like), and making sure I have some in the flat and work it into my daily calorie goal. Avoids you going to the shop with a craving and going over.0

I also plan on eating some ice cream later on. I've eaten something sweet nearly everyday and am losing at the rate I'd like to.

I like to find lower calorie versions of items too- I heard halo Top ice cream is good- Artic zero is good in some flavors(to me)- I LOVE Edy;s slow churned ice creams- and their are fiber one cookies etc- BUT you just have to make sure they fit in your calorie allowance and give yourself a sweet treat-(if you can eat and then stop)0

My sweet tooth will be my demise I swear. I try to make room for something sweet in my daily allotment, whether it be chocolate, fruit or ice cream0

I made these at the weekend, they'd totally satisfy your sweet tooth and came out to just 108cal each of which 30 of that is from 75g walnuts I added. And the 108 includes the 100g dark choc I put in to make them even better. I used 1/2cup Truvia as the sweetener.
So, I urge you to try a warm square of this with some fresh strawberries or sliced banana and a dollop of no fat Greek yoghurt. Really not that calorific for a pretty indulgent feeling dessert.

I have to have something sweet every day too. I fit in chocolatey protein bars that are around 200cals, sugar free pudding at 60-70cals, artic zero/skinny cow ice cream 76-130cals, bite size candy for around 45cals, 100cal cookie packs. 90cal fiber one bars are awesome. The list goes on from there. Fruits are great too. You don't have to give it up. There are tons of things that can easily fit.1

There is nothing wrong with having treats, as long as you are getting enough nutrients and staying within your calorie goals. If you can fit them, no need to feel guilty or like you are doing it wrong.
On the other hand, many people find that when they consistently have trouble sticking to appropriate portions, or are experiencing persistent and intrusive cravings, an "out of sight, out of mind" approach helps. It may mean keeping the foods hidden, or keeping them out of the house, or even resolving to go without them for a period of time.

I'm the same way, someone mentioned this already but try Arctic zero if you can afford it! Some are only 150 calories/pint and it's not as good as Ben and Jerrys but you get to eat a whole pint for only 150 calories so it works for me. The dark chocolate peanut butter kind bars are really good too, or get chocolate rice cakes and put PB2 on it (powdered peanut butter that you mix with water and it makes peanut butter that actually tastes real for only 45 calories for 2 tablespoons, which is really low compared to the calories in actual peanut butter)1

Yes, I do in fact have a big ol' problem with that. sugar free pudding cups, strawberries, frozen bananas in the food processor, single squares of uberdark chocolate are my main ways to handle this.1

I always want a sweet after dinner. Fudgsicle no sugar added fudge pops are 40 calories a serving-I found them on sale for $1 a box and bought a whole bunch of them. Totally hit my sweet craving after dinner.0

I fit sweets into my calorie goal whether it be a Special K Brownie or Fiber One Oatmeal Raisin cookie. To some people it's junk food, but I don't care. It helps keep me sane and not feeling like I'm on a "diet". All food in moderation.0

Just hit the cardio or weights a little harder that day to "earn" that snack. Its life so dont beat yourself up about it just make sure your next meal is healthier0

I have a massive sweet tooth as well, and cutting out all sweets throws me off my diet faster than anything. I recently discovered an awesome sweet treat:
8oz container of Cool Whip Light, thawed
3TB cocoa powder
Sift the cocoa powder into the Cool Whip and stir until completely blended. It makes a chocolate mousse that's super satisfying while being very low in calories.
MFP tells me that 4TB of this mixture is about 40 calories, and that's enough to satiate my craving. You can cut down the calories/fat even more by going with the sugar-free or fat-free versions of Cool Whip but 1. I can't have artificial sweeteners and 2. that little bit of fat makes it more satisfying, IMO.0 -
I'm a sweet lover and if I denied myself all things deliciously sugar I would end up eventually going on a binge.
I purchase treat size versions of various chocolates/Chocolate biscuits that are around 100 kcal each. That's pretty much a 15 minute walk, and I walk for 30 minutes at lunch, so it cancels itself out.
I have a chocolate drawer at work for munchies. It's wonderful. I can grab a small pack of whatever I fancy knowing it's a small calorie intake and I'll burn it off easily with my walk anyway0 -
I am a true sugar addict. There is no moderation for me so I gave it all up. I would buy two big bags of chocolates and it would be gone the next day. My husband had to hide sweets from me so he could have some. If it wasn't in the house, I would go out and buy it. I would swap all meals for desserts. One month in and 12 lbs dropped. It's not for everyone but as an addict I have to do this for me as I watched my fathers health recently deteriorate due to a bad diet and not dealing with his diabetes. Being in a hospital with my dad for three weeks awaiting numerous surgeries made me really want to be healthy versus just loosing the weight. I watched a really great piece on sugar by Dr. Robert Ludwig called Sugar, The Bitter Truth and it has put things into perspective for me. I think you just have to do what works for you and feel good about your decision.0
