I am sorry for your struggles. I don't have any quick, easy answers for you. However, I am going to say, why wait until Monday? Start some small changes today. Make a point to drink at least 8 glasses (8 oz each) of water today. 10 to 12 would be even better. Plan to do that every day. Make a healthy choice for a meal today whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Get more good for you protein that will help with the feeling hungry. Know that YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! Document what you are eating. In the edit section or in a notebook/journal note if you eat something you know isn't good for you, what you were feeling - emotional, bored, angry, unhappy, blah, - it will help you figure out what some of your triggers are that cause you to choose what you do. Don't try for 100% as that isn't a place you can be in right now. Say I am going to make some good choices today. I am going to say no to my fleshly choices a few times today. I am going to be strong. Put on some music that makes you smile or gets you moving. Go for a walk or do some type of exercise. The most important advice I can give you today is START TODAY!!!!!!!!! Monday is 4th of July and there will be too many excuses why you didn't start and then you delay it a week and so on and so on. Remember God loves you and wants only HIS best for you.

I lost my daughter in November of 2007, I remember the depression/lack of will that went along with it. I put the 70 lbs I lost + back on and have been struggling with it since.

I have found that allowing myself to do things I like (reading, sewing, etc) without guilt has been very helpful. As for exercise, I HATE IT!!! but it needs to be done. I walk with my dog and favorite neighbor at least 3 days a week, and have started using Zumba with my Wii. I call my neighbor my therapist, although the walks help with metabolism it also allows time to vent, and relieve stress in my life and for her as well. Also, exercise releases endorphins which hlep with depression and self esteem.

I wish you luck in your ventures.

awww Emma I am sorry you are stuck in a rut. Its the same place I've been stuck for the last 5 years too. Been skinny all my life, and battled with depression for years also. When my kids came along, so did the weight, and plenty of it. Which can bring down your self esteem quite a bit too.

Anti-depressants have been a helpful thing for my mood, but what I have found to be really helpful for me (both for weight and for depression) has been exersize. I joined up in Zumba classes at a local Curves, and the ladies there are such a support system for me. And if i miss a day, well within 15 minutes one of em is checking to see if i need a ride or something lol! Point is though, i couldnt do this by myself. Having a support system is really huge.

And drinking lots of water helps me curb my appetite. I'm a sucker for salty foods. And mealtimes, well its so easy to keep eating cause it tastes so good sometimes. I try to get a bottle of water in before mealtimes, and it seems to be helping me so far.

This is all kind of common knowledge stuff, so I apologise for any repeat of info on things that you might have tried or are doing. If you need someone to talk to, I am here for you :)

I have already started but I am on day four as of today. You can go ahead and catch up with me I post the daily challenge and how I am doing every day. The book goes with any eating plan it is designed to make your brain work with it better. Today's challenge is to give yourself credit. I think of all the times that I put myself down instead of seeing the good things I have done. It is too easy to think about how bad you are or the thing you shouldn't have done. Today you start looking for things that you have done well or you deserve to be recognized for. Like the fact that you started this post on the message boards you deserve kudos for asking for help. Take a look at the board and you can join me in this journey. You might get a little more out of the book. However any little step in the right direction will help you a ton!
