Had a crappy wake up call

I went to the doctor today and found out how much I weighed after avoiding it for years. I am 30lbs more than what I was expecting. I'm pretty heartbroken about it, and I know I should lose about 80 pounds (ouch) to be at a healthy weight based on BMI. At this point, it seems a bit impossible, but I have two choices: I could do nothing but pout, or I could start making a difference. I picked the second option, so that is why I am here! Good luck everyone!

You can do this, Glitterwinds. I started with having to lose 80 pounds, so I know how big that number can sound. Just give it your best every day and if you hit a speed bump you have a whole community here to motivate you and give you advice.

This is really the most helpful forum I have ever found on the internet and that's saying something cause I'm a bit of a forum junkie.

I need to lose 42 lbs, just been told I'm prediabetic. My problem is a diet too high in carbs and sodium, so I could do with a buddy or two to help me. I'll encourage anyone, but need a chivvy from a pal now and again myself
